Frenzy by Sinful Colors

This honestly might be one of my top manicures ever. I began with a base of Xpress Nails "Black Out" and DL "Between the Sheets," and topped them both with the gorgeous sparkle blend from Sinful Colors. I used two coats of the glitter to really make it pop. I love manicures like this because the accent nail adds diversity, but the glitter provides unity to the look. I don't have much experience with the Sinful Colors brand, but this polish held up for a week and a half--I loved it so much that I just couldn't bring myself to take it off. I'm excited to play around with other combos for this color, and even try it solo.

No More Waity, Katie by Butter London

I loved by first Butter London experience so much that I knew I needed more. After perusing the website for almost an hour, agonizing over each gorgeous shade, I found this beauty. Inspired by KATE MIDDLETON herself, it certainly lives up to its name. The base color is a deep lilac, and the silver glitter is incredibly fine. The coverage was outstanding, and the manicure lasted a full week before I had to force myself to move onto the next color. Really though, between the brand and the namesake, how could you go wrong??

Excuse Moi! and Pepe's Purple Passion by OPI

Two add to my family of Muppets polishes, I received these two impossibly sparkly colors as Christmas gifts. Excuse Moi! is a deep pink based glitter with flecks of purple and silver. The overall effect has a lot of depth; this is something that can sometimes be missing from polishes made entirely of sparkle. Pepe's Purple Passion is equally unique in that it appears purple, but it has flecks of pink glitter throughout. They had hardly been seen in the picture, but in the sunlight they appear to be almost the same shade that is found in Excuse Moi!. These colors were perfect together, and made for a nice change from all the Christmas-themed hues.

Pepe's Purple Passion: B 

Double Feature: Trina by Julep and Tutu Cute by Ulta

Since I had gotten sidetracked while working through both my ULTA and Julep polishes I decided to hit two birds with one manicure (and how convenient that they were both shades of purple!). On the nail Trina is a deep, almost black, purple that really comes alive in the sun. Tutu Cute is a creamy lavender that served as a perfect contrast. Per usual of ULTA polishes Tutu Cute went on smoothly and achieved perfect coverage in just one coat. The color alone is not one that I'm crazy about, but it has endless combination possibilities. Trina also went on easily and only required one coat for solid coverage. This is a color that is more up my ally, but I think it also shines in the world of combinations.

Another Day, Another Purchase

Today I got some bad news about my car (last night on my way home I noticed smoke pouring out of my engine, nbd). As per my usual, my first move was to buy myself a little pick-me-up. I have been dreaming of Deborah Lippman as of late, and I decided today was the day to take the plunge. Deborah's colors are gorgeous and unique, and the woman certainly knows her sparkles. I decided to go for colors I didn't have anything similar to already, and I ended up with these gems:

Along with all my purchases from this weekend, I cannot wait for these to come in. Everyone raves about the brand, and I'm excited to finally see what all the excitement is about. 

Deep Purple by Xtreme Wear

When you've got a habit as serious as mine, you can't always afford the more expensive brands of polish. An inexpensive brand (only $2.50 a bottle!!) that I've come to love is Xtreme Wear by Sally Hansen. The polish is high quality, long lasting, and the brand is XTREMEly fond of iridescent colors and glitters. I'd been on a hunt for an iridescent grape color, and I may have screamed a little when I found this gem in Target. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It covered smoothly, managed to make it through Thanksgiving cooking and three rounds of Black Friday shopping without chipping, and garnered numerous compliments from strangers. This picture is in the sunlight and shows the color after two coats.
